In August, we had a performace at Chinatown, Washington, D.C.

 

In September, we will have two performaces:

(1)  9/26/2007 -- Performance at NASA, Greenbelt, Maryland.

(2)  9/27/2007 -- Performance at CCCC (Chinatown Chinese Culture Center), Washington, D.C.

Thank you for you all to attend our 5/04 2007 Gu-Zheng Performance at Montgomery Collage - Germantown Campus. Hope that you enjoyed all 18 songs. All our members were so excited.

 

Actually, we had a busy Asian Pacific Heritage Month. We joined the following events:

Hi everyone,

We will have a gu-zheng performance to celebrate the Asian Pacific Heritage Month. This program is sponsored by Office of Student Life, Montgomery College – Germantown Campus. The followings are the details:  

Date: 5/04/2007 (Friday)  

Time: 7:45 P.M. to 9:45 P.M.  

Admission: Free for all  

Place: Globe Hall, Germantown Campus, Montgomery College.  

Address: 20200 Observation Drive, Germantown, MD 20876  

Direction: Take I-270 North to Exit 15 East (Route 118) toward Route 355. Continue about one mile to the second traffic light at Observation Drive; turn right. Follow the campus driveway to the visitor's parking lot on the right.   Please note that you need to park your car in the parking place with white line (in white color only). After parking the car, you will see HS building and SA building across the road. And, there is a pathway, which is in between of those two buildings, can lead you to HT building.  

The Globe Hall is located inside the HT building (High Technology and Science Center).

Yes, The ensemble will have couple performances in this upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year celebration. You are very welcome to come.

Yas, we play traditional and contemporary Chinese gu zheng music. We also play some folk songs. Such as: 'Standing on the Hillock' (站在高崗上) in 2005 and 'We Promise' (我們有約) in 2006.

Gu-zheng (Chinese zither) is a traditional Chinese musical instrument.

Except playing traditional and contemporary Chinese gu zheng music, we also play Western music. Because we locate in the United States and we have performed in many different places with American audience as well as those from different countries, we started playing some Western songs since 2002 to make the music more interesting and easier for our audience to learn and understand.
